• Self-introductions by all present.

2. Maritime Update (Maritime Staff)

• Kimberly Brandon has been re-elected as President of the Port Commission for 2019. Other commissioners are Willie Adams as Vice President, Doreen Woo Ho, Gail Gilman, and Victor Makras.
• Port of San Francisco will be homeport to the Carnival Miracle of Carnival Cruise Lines in 2020, offering sailings to Mexico, Alaska, and Hawaii.  The ship holds approximately 2,200 passengers.
• The Port of San Francisco has been partners with San Francisco Bay Railroad for over 20 years.  The Port Commission has recently approved a new 15 year lease with a 5 year option to continue these rail operations.
• The Port partnered with the Air District to acquire a new tier 4 green locomotive which will reduce air emissions by 90% from the current one in use.  It is on the tracks to arrive in the railyard early February 2019.
• The shipyard at Pier 70 has been closed since May 2017 and remains inactive.  The Port issued two RFPs (August 2017 and September 2018) but was not been successful in getting an operator into the shipyard.
• After 32 years with the Port, Peter Dailey will be retiring next week.
• The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has amended their At-Berth Regulations to reduce emissions from diesel auxiliary engines on container ships, passenger ships, and cargo ships by turning off their engines and using shore power while berthing at a California Port.  The Port is currently evaluating potential secondary cruise terminal locations including determining the costs of establishing a shore power connection and necessary seismic retrofits.  The new rule will be effective 2021 for cruise ships and 2025 for cargo ships.
• Pier 80 will have over 10,000 cars (conservatively) for January 2019.

3. PASHA Automotive Services  (Sophie Silvestri, PASHA)

• Pasha Automotive Services have been the terminal operators at Pier 80 since August 2016.

4. Waterfront Plan Working Group (Diane Oshima)

• Ellen Johnck and Chris Christensen have been the representatives from the MCAC to give guidance on what policies need to be updated and incorporated into the Waterfront Plan for maritime businesses.
• The revised plan will be available this spring and circulated for public comments.
• The draft plan will go through an environmental review process which will take 12-18 months to complete before the commission can adopt the new plan.
• We want to ensure BCDC rules are consistent with the rules set in the updated plan supporting maritime industries, and not create any contradictions.
• We would like BCDC to incorporate changes to their Seaport Plan so it will be more flexible for the Port to market Pier 80, 94, 96, and the Backlands since our business lines have changed.
• Request for Interest was issued August 2018 to seek partners with ideas and the capability to create inviting, public-serving destinations for waterfront facilities in the Embarcadero Historic District.
• On January 30th, there will be a meeting on the Embarcadero Historic Facilities RFI process.
• On January 31st, there will be a meeting on the Seawall program.

5. Other: Old and New Business; General Discussion; Agenda Topics for Future Meetings (All)

• BCDC meeting will be issuing a descriptive notice on the Seaport Plan update, a plan which supports Port operations.
• Continuing discussions on the California Air Resources Board amended At-Berth Regulations.
• Invite San Francisco Travel Association to present on SF waterfront tourism.
