COVID-19 Tenant Relief Programs

The Port has taken a number of actions to provide relief to tenants during the COVID-19 Health Pandemic. With the intent of providing urgent assistance, the programs aim to mitigate the crippling financial effects for Port tenants, while balancing the financial impacts to the Port. The Port is committed to maritime, recreational and economic opportunities to serve the public, while applying an equity lens that is critical in achieving the Port's vision of delivering vibrant and diverse waterfront experiences that enrich the City, Region, and State. The following programs have been launched since shelter in place order were mandated in San Francisco on March 16, 2020.

  • Maritime Tenant Rent Forgiveness (CLOSED 2/28/2021)
  • Civic Impact (Artists & Non-profits) Rent Forgiveness (CLOSED 2/28/2021)
  • Repayment Program (CLOSED 2/28/2021)
  • Micro LBE Loan Program (CLOSED 12/23/2020)

 

Additional Information

Rent Forgiveness

All eligible tenants seeking rent forgiveness through the Local Business Enterprise Program, Percentage Rent Program, Maritime Program, of Civic Impact Program must submit an application, by February 28, 2021. Please review the List of Eligible Program Participants.  

Small Business Assistance

The Office of Economic and Workforce Development have information and resources for San Francisco employers and employees concerning the COVID-19 outbreak. This is a rapidly evolving situation, and the OEWD website will be updated as more information and resources are made available.   

Port Tenants Webinar

The Port partnered on April 17 with the San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development (SFOEWD) to host a webinar for Port Tenants to discuss the Small Business Assistance Programs available locally including the  Payment Protection Program, Emergency Injury Disaster Loan, City Programs, and assistance for employers and employees.  Download the presentations on Port Business Resources and Small Business Association resources.
