Street Parking Permit

No-stopping sign at a parking meter

The Port provides Street Parking Permits for special events, food trucks associated with an event, filming and construction. Street Parking Permits require a minimum of 15 calendar days between date of request and date of event.

Implementation of no-stopping permits for an event, moving, filming, construction and other temporary uses are subject to the SF Port Harbor Traffic Code.

The Port is responsible for metered parking on its jurisdiction and partners with the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) to implement parking management.

Email nostopping@sfport.com for inquiries.

Temporary no parking signs are required to inform the public that vehicles parked in the posted no parking spaces, reserved by the sign’s dates and times, will be towed to clear the space required for the event. These signs shall be used to reserve the necessary parking space for events such as commercial or residential moves, corporate events, funerals, and other similar needs. Temporary no parking signs are not intended to be used for parking of a personal vehicle.

The issuance of the sign is regulated by the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency. Apply for temporary tow-away signage on the SFMTA website.

Special Events may include street fairs, marathons and races, parades, demonstrations, sporting events, moving, hotel or restaurant parking, tour bus parking and funerals.
