The Port of San Francisco is the premier gateway to the world, hosting over 100 cruise ship calls and more than 400,000 passengers every year at Pier 27 James R. Herman Cruise Terminal and Pier 35 on The Embarcadero. Cruises from San Francisco travel throughout the California Coast, Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico and beyond.

The James R. Herman Cruise Terminal opened in 2014. Passengers board ships via an automated mobile gangway able to meet the varied door heights of cruise ships. When in berth, ships can plug into the Port’s 12 megawatt shore power system to receive the cleanest source of power. The terminal can also be rented during non-cruise days through MetroEvents
