The waterfront will be covered in dazzling lights as San Francisco hosts the annual Fourth of July fireworks. Enjoy the Port throughout the day and stay to watch the fireworks show at night: Perfect Day in Fisherman's Wharf.
The fireworks show will be launched from the Bay and is expected to begin at 9:30 p.m. It will last approximately 20 minutes.
Fireworks are best viewed from the Fisherman's Wharf area. Public viewing areas to watch the show include Aquatic Park, Pier 39, and the Pier 43 walkway.

TIPS FOR BEST FIREWORKS SHOW EXPERIENCE
- Make reservations EARLY. Special cruises and waterfront restaurants may have limited or no walk-in options on popular holidays.
- Plan to arrive early to get your preferred viewing spot.
- Take public transit. The waterfront will get crowded closer to showtime. Check Muni, BART and San Francisco Bay Ferry for service updates and real time schedule information.
- Dress in layers. Temperatures at the waterfront can drop quickly after sunset and often get windy and foggy along the water.
- Leave the dogs at home. Crowds and loud sounds may scare your pets.
Enjoy the show, but leave fireworks to the professionals. See information from the Fire Department about reporting illegal fireworks.
COOLING STATION AND DRINKING FOUNTAIN INFORMATION
Due to high temperatures, the Port will operate two cooling stations on July 4. Both will operate 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. and will provide access to public drinking fountains, but bottled water will not be provided.
- Pier 1: Access to air-conditioned lobby, restrooms, and seating. Due to COVID protocols, masks will be required and available to visitors.
- South Beach Harbor (Pier 40A): Access to air-conditioned community room, restrooms, and seating. No mask requirements.
