Wendy Proctor is the Interim Deputy Director for Engineering, responsible for project delivery, construction management, and design, inspections, contracting, code compliance, and permitting services.
Proctor joined the Port of San Francisco in 2006. Prior to being the Interim Deputy Director, she was the Senior Architect and American Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator for the Port. During her career at the Port she has worn many hats from executing capital projects, rehabilitating historic buildings; providing oversight and working with partners of the Port from Exploratorium, Ferry Building, America's cup, to the Super Bowl, and she has been a key member on the Waterfront Resilience Program working on solutions to transform the waterfront to be resilient to earthquake and sea level rise hazards.
Proctor is a licensed Architect and Certified Access Specialist in California. She studied Architecture at Southern Illinois University. Her career in San Francisco has spanned a variety of work including historic rehabilitation, interior architecture, public schools in the North Bay and in San Francisco, regulatory oversight for the State Architects office, and Instructor at City College of San Francisco. She is a board member of the San Francisco Bay Trail and is an advisor committee member on the San Francisco Bay Water Trail. She lives in San Francisco and spends her spare time enjoying urban and nature-scapes, especially on the waterfront, by foot, bicycle, kayak, and more.
