Ming Yeung is the Acting Deputy Director for the Planning and Environment division for the Port of San Francisco. She is responsible for overseeing, planning and directing the work of the division which handles long-range and policy planning for Port land use and environmental matters, design review, regulatory permitting and compliance, and community engagement and outreach.
Ming has over 15 years of waterfront planning experience in the Bay Area. She has been with the Port’s Planning and Environment division since 2017 and previously worked for the City and County of San Francisco’s Planning Department. From 2005 –2015, Ming worked for the Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC) in various roles but most notably as a Senior Planner responsible for permitting waterfront projects, including many SF Port projects. She is experienced with the complex regulatory requirements for work along the waterfront and excited to bring her skills to further the Port’s planning, environmental, and sustainability goals.
Ming holds a Juris Doctor and Masters in Urban Planning from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Arts in history and politics from Oberlin College. She is a native of New York City but has called San Francisco her home for over 20 years.
