Getting Around the Port

There are a variety of convenient transit options to explore the Port. Odd-numbered piers are on the north side of the Ferry Building. Even-numbered piers are on the south side of the Ferry Building.  

Visiting Port Offices 

The Port of San Francisco main office is at Pier 1 on The Embarcadero at Washington Street. The nearest transit stop is F Historic streetcar at The Embarcadero/Washington. There is on-street metered parking along The Embarcadero. There is a paid parking lot across the street from Pier 1.

Ferries

Ferries travel from the Port to Treasure Island, the East Bay, and North Bay.

Ferry gates are located behind the Ferry Building.

T Third streetcar at Oracle Park

Streetcars

Ride historic streetcars from the Ferry Building to Fisherman's Wharf.

The T Third line goes from Embarcadero Station to Oracle Park and Islais Creek.

Biking and Pedicabs

Bay Wheels bike stations are available on the waterfront.

Bike rentals are available at Fisherman's Wharf, Ferry Building and Pier 40.

Hail a pedicab on the Embarcadero for a no-effort ride across the waterfront.  

 


Water Taxis berthed at Pier 1 1/2

Water Taxi

The water taxi makes stops between Pier 1 1/2 and Hyde Street Harbor near Fisherman's Wharf.

Spot taxi stops by looking for yellow checkered taxi signs.

Driving and Parking

Metered street parking is available on the waterfront. Check the current meter rates

Find available parking garages and spaces around the waterfront.

The SFMTA enforces parking regulations at the Port. Pay tickets and citations online through SFMTA.
