Pier 70 Area - Developer Solicitation
On May 11, 2010, the Port Commission endorsed the Pier 70 Master Plan and authorized two development solicitation efforts to attract private partners to realize the Plan.
The first offering was the southeast corner of the site, almost 20 acres with capacity for 2.5 million square feet of new development, termed the “Waterfront Site.” This site’s rent and tax revenues will support investment in parks, infrastructure and historic buildings for all of Pier 70. Responses to the Request for Qualifications for the Waterfront site were received on January 10, 2011.
The 20th Street Historic structures were the second offering. Partnering with developers, businesses, or institutions that can re-purpose these buildings advances the case for public and private investment. A Request for Interest was issued on February 16th, 2011, with initial responses due June 1st, 2011.
