Port Building Code Adoption

Under the authority vested to the San Francisco Port Commission through Chapter 1333 of the Statutes of 1968 (the Burton Act), the Port Commission plans to authorize and approve the adoption of the 2007 Port of San Francisco Building Code, Electrical Code, Plumbing Code and Mechanical Code at the July 10, 2007 Port Commission Meeting. The proposed Port Building Code adopts the 1997 Uniform Building Code, as amended by the 2001 edition of the California Building Code, and as further amended by the Port of San Francisco. The proposed Port Electrical Code adopts the 2002 National Electrical Code, as amended by the California Electrical Code, and as further amended by the Port of San Francisco. The proposed Port Plumbing Code adopts the 2000 Uniform Plumbing Code, as amended by the 2001 California Plumbing Code, and as further amended by the Port of San Francisco. The Port Mechanical Code adopts the 2000 Uniform Mechanical Code, as amended by the 2001 California Mechanical Code, and as further amended by the Port of San Francisco.

In compliance with state and local noticing requirements, the Port has posted drafts of the proposed Port Codes for public review and comment:

The draft codes are also available for review at the Port's Building Permit Desk at Pier 1 between the hours of 8:30 A.M and 11:30 A.M. Monday through Friday.

The deadline for comments is 5:00 PM, June 26, 2007. All comments to the draft Port Building Code should be addressed in writing to:
